Pride of Rugby Awards

The Pride of Rugby Awards were held on the 12th May celebrating local businesses, charities and volunteers.

I attended an amazing and inspirational night on Friday 12th May recognising the businesses, charities and volunteers who make Rugby the incredible Town and Borough that it is.

Warwickshire CAVA were well represented by our staff and volunteer team, who scrubbed up well, they were so proud to see so many of the charities, groups and volunteers that we have supported over many years recognised at this year's #prideofrugby awards held @coombeabbeyhotel.

I had the enormous honour and privilege to award the Carer of the Year award to a young man called Tom who has had incredible challenges in his life including losing his father to suicide. Tom deals with these challenges the only way he knows how - which is to put other people first and care for them.

He received a standing ovation from many in the audience as he told his story and to stand next to him while he did so was very moving indeed.

So great to see the youth clubs in Rugby including The Bradby Club and Hill Street Youth Club recognised as well as Rugby Autism Network.

Congratulations to everyone who was nominated!
