Call for Information to Support the Young Unemployed in Coventry, North Warks, Nuneaton and Bedworth
The Big Lottery Fund has announced a new initiative called 'Talent Match', a programme for young people, designed by young people, aiming to tackle youth unemployment in certain areas of the UK.
Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth and North Warwickshire have been identified as areas that could receive funding but we need to develop a strong bid with clear, robust evidence of the issues facing young people in these particular areas and the deadline is fast approaching.
We have some excellent data already from statutory sources which tells us the levels of 18-24 year olds who have been out of work for twelve months or more and have been claiming benefits. We realise that this data which is readily available doesn’t reflect the total figure as simply using job seeker allowance figures won’t reach those young people who may not even be in the benefit system.
We know that your organisation may work with young people and families and we need your help to start building the real picture. We do not need you to share any confidential or detailed information at this stage but to ensure that a strong and robust bid is developed we do need you to let us know your experiences and where possible numbers of young people you are working with who have been unemployed for over twelve months.
Please e-mail mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information by Monday 1st October:
Numbers of young people you are working with who have been unemployed for over 12 months in each of the following areas:
Nuneaon & Bedworth
