Compact Voice: Half of Councils Making Disproportionate Cuts to Charities
New Compact Voice research has found that half of local authorities have made disproportionate cuts to the voluntary sector. Compact Voice used the Freedom of Information Act to question English local authorities about cuts they had made to voluntary sector funding. Neil Cleeveley, NAVCA's Director of Policy and Communications, said, "This is really valuable work by Compact Voice and is the most comprehensive picture of local authority funding to the voluntary sector. A third of authorities increased the grant funding available, proving disproportionate cuts can be avoided if there is a political will."
