The Councillor Grant Fund: County Council Grants Available for North Warwickshire
A new funding source from Warwickshire County Council has been launched which provides the opportunity for smaller voluntary and community groups in North Warwickshire to apply for grants from their local County Councillor.
The ‘Councillor Grant Fund’ provides each councillor with a pot of £5,000 to support worthwhile projects in their area. Closing date Friday 28th September 2012.
In total, £40,000 is available to local groups across the borough. The fund is being run by Warwickshire County Council’s North Warwickshire Area Office. The majority of Councillors have chosen to provide grants up to a maximum of £500 so they can support as many groups as possible.
Cllr Colin Hayfield, portfolio holder for Customers, Access and Physical Assets, said: “The Councillor grant is an opportunity for community groups to showcase projects and schemes to elected members and for us to make a contribution that will help them to make a difference in their localities. I urge community groups to apply for this funding.”
