National Lottery Awards 2010: Public Voting Commences
The National Lottery Awards are an annual search to find the UK's favourite Lottery-funded projects. The awards recognise the difference these projects have made to people, places and communities across the UK and celebrate the talent, hard work and dedication of those involved in their running.
Public voting for the final round of the 2010 awards has now commenced. The awards reflect the variety of projects that benefit from Lottery funding.
Details of the shortlisted entries for each of the following categories are now available on the National Lottery Good Causes website:
• Best Arts Project
• Best Education Project
• Best Environment Project
• Best Health Project
• Best Heritage Project
• Best Sports Project
Best Voluntary/Charity Project (in association with Woman magazine)
Winners will receive a cash prize of £2,000 and feature in a special BBC1 television show in the autumn.
Votes can be cast online, or by telephone. Voting telephone numbers for each project are available via the following link:

The deadline for public votes to be cast is midday on 13th August 2010.
