Rugby Credit Union
A new way to save and borrow has come to Rugby.
Warwickshire CAVA - Rugby Borough have been involved with the Credit Union from the start. We continue to give support to the development of this exciting resource for the people of Rugby and the surrounding area. Specifically Warwickshire CAVA Rugby Borough has seconded a Development Officer and an Administrative Assistant for an initial two year period to assist the Credit Union to establish itself.
The Credit Union was registered with the Financial Services Authority on June 11th 2004 and began trading in October 2004. Anyone from 16 years of age onwards, who work or live within the boundaries of Rugby Borough Council are eligible to become members.
- Core funding for the development of the Credit Union has been received from:
Warwickshire County Council - Rugby Group Benevolent Fund
- Tudor Trust
Rugby Credit Union provides a range of financial benefits including:
- Low cost loans: 1% per month on the reducing balance (12.7% APR).
- Easy savings: cash at a branch near you, or direct by a standing order or by payroll deduction.
- Life savings insurance: and loan protection insurance at no direct cost to the member.
- Profit sharing: surplus returned to the member as a dividend on savings.
