VAT rates will not be frozen for charities’ non-business activities following the
parliamentary review of amendments to the Finance Bill. The proposed amendment, that VAT on charities' non-business activities should remain at 17.5% instead of increasing to 20% from January, was rejected along with a further proposal aimed at delaying the VAT increase until after an impact assessment.
