WCAVA: Future Jobs Fund
What is the Future Jobs Fund?
• The Future Jobs Fund (FJF) is part of the Government’s guarantee to give all 18-24 year-olds a job, training or work placement if they are out of work and claiming Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) for between 26 – 52 weeks. If no young person is appointed after 4 weeks the offer is extended to over 24’s living in defined hot spots.
• An FJF job will be for at least 6 months, 25 hours per week and paid at the higher rate of National Minimum Wage, currently £5.80.
• This provides an opportunity for a person to get a foot in the door, to gain some skills and hopefully to move on to a permanent job.
• FJF is an excellent way for people to gain experience of the workplace.
WCAVA can support you through assuming employer responsibilities for any new job created for the Future Jobs Fund initiative and to ensure that the young person gets maximum benefit from this opportunity. For more information, contact Marie Dawe on 01926 477511 or email marie@wcava.org.uk
