I have been involved in the community and voluntary sector in Rugby since 1999. I campaigned for the ''community” in the then Council for Voluntary Service to which there was some resistance at the time. I became Chair of the local CVS, Chair of the Rugby Local Strategic Partnership, a member of several committees and action groups in the Town and across the County. The role of community is not in doubt any longer.
At local level as a community activist, I am Chair of the New Bilton Community Association and lead a group of volunteer residents who want to make New Bilton a better place in which to live. Current initiatives include an edible garden project, a local history book to be launched shortly, and 'Love Where you Live', a spring clean campaign for next year.
