Canal Clean up Nuneaton

on Sunday 18th Mar, 2018 at 9:30am
On Sunday, 18th March the Warwickshire branch of the Inland Waterways are organising a big clean-up of the Coventry Canal in Nuneaton.

The event will involve using grappling hooks to drag rubbish from the canal bed, plus a litter pick along the towpath. The clean-up is supported by Canal and River Trust (CRT) who will provide a boat to collect the rubbish plus the equipment and gloves. It is recommended volunteers wear suitable clothes and stout footwear due to the nature of the tasks; under sixteens must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers are asked to meet at Wash Lane bridge No. 21 near Tomkinson Road in Nuneaton from 9.30am, and the event will finish by 1.00pm.

The event is also being supported by Warwickshire County Council's Community Safety and Locality Working team, so if you are interested in attending please email Maxine Tuffin at: maxinetuffin@warwickshire.gov.uk
