Vacancy: WCAVA: Project Mentor – Talent Match

We are seeking a Project Mentor who will engage and enthuse a caseload of unemployed 18-24 year olds.

The Talent Match programme is funded by the Big Lottery Fund. The aim of the programme is to reduce the continued unemployment of 18-24 year olds across Coventry & areas of Warwickshire by creating cohesive employability pathways.

We are seeking a Project Mentor who will engage and enthuse a caseload of unemployed 18-24 year olds.  It will be achieved by mentoring in order to develop confidence so that they can re-engage in a range of learning and personal development opportunities, thereby equipping them to compete in the labour market and secure employment or to establish themselves in self-employment.

The successful candidate must have work experience of working with young people – either in an employment situation or voluntary work, i.e. scouts, girl guides, youth work, have enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop on the job.

You will be able to use your own initiative in decision making and resolving problems, have good organisational skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and complete tasks on  schedule.

Flexibility to undertake work outside of normal office hours and ability to travel to attend meetings and events is essential.

This post will involve contact with young people and is therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all convictions, spent or unspent must be declared.
