Talent Match

Talent Match was designed to help 18-24 year olds from Coventry, Nuneaton and North Warwickshire who have limited or no paid work experience in the last year.

Talent Match Coventry and Warwickshire was funded by the Big Lottery Fund and is one of 21 areas nationally to be supported by the scheme.

Talent Match Coventry and Warwickshire is managed by a core partnership containing representatives from the following ages who are working together to develop the programme:

Talent Match will help its young people to:

  • Explore future goals and aspirations

  • Identify and overcome barriers to employment

  • Develop the confidence and skills needed for the workplace

  • Explore career options and college courses

  • Take part in taster courses, paid work placement schemes, apprenticeships,and traineeships

  • Explore work and volunteering opportunities

  • Progress into employment

How can we help you?

  • Support of a dedicated mentor who will help you to identify individual needs and provide support throughout the programme, even in the workplace

  • Developing a Talent Match plan to help you get to where you want to be

  • Developing employability skills

  • Providing access to opportunities, jobs and training based on individual career goals and aspirations

  • Providing access to a menu of accredited courses and qualifications including opportunities in construction and driving

The programme can help overcome barriers to the workplace including:

  • Providing free or subsidised travel to the workplace

  • Exploring options for support with childcare

  • Helping with basic / functional skills such as Maths/English

  • Accessing counselling sessions

  • Support to set up a bank accounts and get ID

  • Training courses

The project also specialises in meeting the needs of young parents, carers, or young people with a disability.

Employer information
If you are an employer and you think you may be able to offer any of the following support, we would love to hear from you:

  • Work placements

  • Providing business mentors

  • Helping with interview skills days

  • Showing young people the types of jobs you have available

  • Employer visits

  • Offering taster sessions

  • Access to jobs and apprenticeships

Employers will be able to benefit through the programme through support in filling hard to fill vacancies; trialling candidates through supported work placements; and an opportunity to network with other agencies.
