What will it cover?
This course looks at what the GDPR means in practice for voluntary and community groups, and for their staff and volunteers who handle personal data. It will suit those wanting to refresh their knowledge of data protection law, and those who are new to the topic.
The workshop will provide a broad overview of the GDPR; and how it affects the way organisations collect and process data. In particular, it will look at the practical steps needed for compliance.
(a) Have an understanding of the GDPR’s key features.
(b) Be aware of their organisation’s and their own duties, and the steps needed to ensure compliance with data protection law.
(c) Be more confident in applying best practice to data protection.
