Small Charity Week 2026: Celebrating Small Charities, Big Impact

Small Charity Week 2026 banner

From 22nd–29th June 2026, organisations across the UK will come together to celebrate Small Charity Week, a national campaign highlighting the vital role that small charities and community organisations play in supporting people, strengthening communities and creating positive change.

This year’s theme, “Small Charities. Big Impact.”, recognises the incredible contribution that small charities make every day, often with limited resources but a deep understanding of the communities they serve. Small Charity Week aims to shine a spotlight on their work, raise awareness of the challenges they face, and encourage greater support from individuals, businesses, funders and local communities.

Why Small Charities Matter
Small charities are often at the heart of their communities. They respond quickly to local needs, provide personalised support, and build connections that help people thrive. Whether supporting young people, older residents, families, volunteers, or those facing difficult circumstances, these organisations play a crucial role in improving lives across the UK.

Small Charity Week provides an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and recognise the difference they make every day.

Getting Involved
There are many ways to support Small Charity Week:

  • Learn more about the small charities working in your local area
  • Share stories of community impact on social media
  • Volunteer your time or professional skills
  • Consider becoming a trustee for a local organisation
  • Fundraise or donate to support local causes
  • Encourage your workplace to get involved in community initiatives.

Throughout the week, charities are encouraged to share their stories, celebrate volunteers, thank supporters, and showcase the positive impact they have within their communities.

Double Your Impact
As part of Small Charity Week 2026, a national match-funding campaign is helping participating charities raise vital unrestricted funding. Donations made to selected charities during the campaign period can be doubled, helping organisations increase their impact and continue delivering essential services.

Supporting Stronger Communities
Small Charity Week is about more than fundraising. It is a chance to start conversations about the value of community organisations and the support they need to continue making a difference. As demand for services continues to grow, many small charities are facing increasing pressures, making community support more important than ever.

By recognising and supporting small charities, we can help ensure that communities remain connected, resilient and inclusive for everyone.

How CAVA Supports Small Charities
At Warwickshire & Solihull Community And Voluntary Action (CAVA), we are proud to support the hundreds of small charities, community groups, social enterprises and voluntary organisations that help make Warwickshire and Solihull stronger, more connected and more resilient.

As the local Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) infrastructure organisation, we provide practical support to help organisations start up, grow and thrive. This includes advice on governance, funding and income generation, volunteer recruitment, business planning, organisational development, trustee support and community engagement. We also work closely with local partners, funders and decision-makers to ensure the voice of the sector is heard and valued.

If you’d like to learn more about the support available, browse our website or get in touch with the CAVA team. We’re always happy to discuss how we can help your organisation develop, grow and achieve its goals.

Together, we can celebrate the small charities making a big impact in our communities.
